This guide describes how to activate and work with 360 video in Streamio.
To use 360 video, the video file must be correctly encoded in a 360 format (e.g., equirectangular projection) and have sufficient quality for playback on different devices.
For best compatibility, it’s recommended to use encoding profiles that are customized for 360 video.
Ensure resolution and bitrate are optimized for 360 content.
Use profiles that preserve the video’s spatial metadata (360 information).
If the video is already correctly encoded, you can choose not to transcode it when uploading.
When you upload your video, follow these steps:
Under Encoding Preferences
Select Do No Encode!
Activate Use this file as a transcoding
When this option is enabled, the uploaded file is used directly as the video stream during playback.
Once the video is uploaded, you need to activate the 360 mode manually.
Do this:
Go to the Advanced tab for the video
Enable the 360-video option
When enabled, the video will play as a 360 video in compatible players.
